Diarra muncul sebagai pengganti tengah untuk mengawal dan mengelirukan pihak lawan. Susuk tubuhnya yang licik mampu memperdayakan dengan larian yang deras.

Walaupun telah dikejutkan oleh tuan rumah pada minit-minit awal hasil kelekaan pemain pertahanan Sagna. Namun, keserasian pemain pertahanan, tengah dan penyerang mampu mengubah segala kedudukan. Permainan cantik hasil sentuhan Eboue, Adebayor, Rosicky memberi peluang rakan seperjuangan Flamini untuk rembatan deras dengan menggunakan kaki kiri untuk gol penyamaan. Gol kedua Arsenal dihasilkan oleh bintang utama Arsenal Adebayor melalui tandukan menewaskan Carson setelah menerima hantaran lintang daripada Sagna.
